For your listening pleasure

It is supposed to be Spring out there, minus 9 and feeling very un-Spring. (No I have no shame about making up words as I go along, should I?) What is it they say?

Yeah.... hope springs eternal. Not that many would accuse me of being an optimist...

It will happen eventually.

P.S. The Cattleman reminded me of this particular piece, he may look like he just crawled off a Harley or a mountain, but he does have "refined" diverse musical taste.

I am being optimistic about spring...I know that Environment Canada says it will be cooler than normal, but darn it, I'm starting my tomatoes inside this week anyways. I refuse to let this weather dampen my spirit any more!

Wolfsong I hear ya and I concur. Just make sure you have the room and bigger pots to keep transplanting those tomatoes. A few years ago I received some Tomato seeds from Mama Liberty, she said they grew really well in cooler climates and lasted longer into the frost if taken care of. I didn't have an opportunity (roughly translated into I forgot) to plant them last year. You may have just lit a wee fire under my derriere.

You planning on planting much this year?

Just a bit of planting...*she said with and evil grin*

This year the garden will include...beets, carrots(3 kinds), bush beans(3 types as well), cabbages, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, tomatoes, a few cukes, Knucklehead pumpkins, zucchini, lettuce, spinach, and a hot pepper plant.

That doesn't include the perennial raspberries, strawberries, haskaaps, or the oh so delightful chocolate mint.

*sigh* I'm so ready for spring and the garden...by fall I'll be saying "Enough! Time for winter, I'm tired of canning!"

LOL!

Heh... I had to google haskaaps. :O)

I don't do well in the food gardening department. Oh I do fine with the raspberry canes and the like, I even threw out our Halloween pumpkins at the back of the yard for the animals to munch on and the kiddos could watch them, they grew glorious vines and funky looking squash like thingies. All unintentional. When I plant things on purpose...not such good luck I am afraid. Even my Nasturtium didn't do well last year. I love those in a salad, the leaves and the flowers look so beautiful and the peppery taste is wonderful.

I think I might go out and get some herbs and spices and that mint...surely even I could manage that.
