Want to see what state run Health Care will get ya?

It's always comforting when one lets their betters, bureaucrats with your best interests in mind, instead of capitalist dogs, make these Health care decisions. I mean what could go wrong?

This Saturday, one of Greece’s most respected newspapers, To Vima, reported that the nation’s largest government health insurance provider would no longer pay for special footwear for  Diabetes Patients.  Amputation is cheaper, says the Benefits Division of the state insurance provider.

I know a man from my city who has been sitting up in Calgary waiting for bypass surgery for over a week. It was an emergency, not a foreplanned event. So why is he still 'waiting'? I talked to his wife the other day and I couldn't believe he was still waiting... but then again when my boss's husband had a heart attack 2.5 years ago, he was sent to Calgary and waited 4-5 days for his angioplasty surgery because 'the' surgeon was away. Ummmm Calgary has a population of over a million people, I'm pretty sure there is more than one heart surgeon up there, so what gives? Or my friend's mom getting lung cancer surgery dated, only to find out that it was inadvertently planned for thanksgiving monday that year so it was rebooked... for FEBRUARY! She died 3 months after that because the cancer spread to her brain in the meantime and they couldnt do anything besides radiation. What the h*ll is that all about??? I'm sorry mr tumor, but you have to wait because it's a holiday. Cancer takes a holiday, right?

Kez you must be mistaken, our free health care system is the best in the free world, everything is supposed to be perfect because everyone has access to it and does not have to mortgage their homes and go bankrupt for this human right of free health care.(happens everyday in this country)Nobody will be denied a procedure because some pencil pushing clerk at some dirty capitalist company is trying to save the company a buck off the backs of the patients. No not us we get pencil pushing bureaucrats that deny us coverage to save dirty politicians a penny or two, we have Canadians dieing waiting for approval for procedures.

I have a friend who is 49 she needs a knee replacement, she was told by her doctor that knee replacements are slated for those over 60. Ummmm that means she is gonna have to wait about 11 years before she can get it....are they out of their freaking minds with that bureaucratic guideline???????? What about quality of life in the interim years while she is waiting for the magic 60 ans?

Gonna make a wee expensive trip to the us of a for a new knee.......
