This is Libby Davies

 photo libby-davies.jpg

Darn it, I despise when bloggers pick the least flattering photo to make a point, I do not want to be one of those bloggers so can I have a do over?

This is Libby Davies.

 photo libby3.jpg

Marginal improvement. Surely I can do better.  Shall I try again?

This is Libby Davies.

 photo libby2.jpeg

I give up, I guess Libby is just NOT what you would call photogenic.

So this is a fair representation of what Libby Davies looks like.

 photo libby-davies.jpg

Libby Davies is a politician. Not just any politician but a member of her Majesty's Loyal Opposition. Not just any member of her Majesty's Loyal Opposition, but the NDP critic of Health.  Health you say? Yup Health.

This is Libby Davies.

 photo libby2.jpeg

She has tabled a Private Member's Bill in an effort  to restrict the little people's salt intake, all in the name of Health of course. Because you can tell she is all about being healthy....right?

Physician (she's not) heal thy self first (she wont).

To be fair I would oppose the Libby Davies / nanny staters of life even if they appeared  in Victoria Secret's runway show or the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition. However the blatant hypocrisy and  stupidity of these types is usually not this obvious....It's rather stunning really.

Talk about your bloated overlord......

A little ditty that comes to mind when ever I think of dear Libby, that's fairly normal right?

Wanna see what State run Health Care will get ya?

No corporate money hungry, penny pinching, uncaring capitalists here, just your average government department I'd say:

“There was a lack of care, compassion, humanity and leadership,” said Robert Francis, chairman of the inquiry, who said the scandal was a “disaster.”
Speaking in the House of Commons, Mr. Cameron said, “Hundreds of people suffered from the most appalling neglect and mistreatment.
“There were patients so desperate for water that they were drinking from dirty flower vases. And relatives were ignored or even reproached when pointing out the most basic things which could have saved their loved ones from horrific pain or even death.

What a relief that health care is "free".... Cameron thinks some people should be *gasp* fired?

I guess jail is out of the question?

Chickens stolen from pots

to buy votes.

Dalton McGiunty is looking to get re-elected this October. He knows his rubber is about to meet the road. He is willing to do all he can to change his fate..all he can such as pandering to select groups, bribing them with our money.

That’s all you can say about the Dalton McGuinty Liberals’ plan to give a $10,000 tax credit to companies that hire newcomers to this country.
It is bald-faced pandering to the immigrant vote.
As an immigrant, I can tell them, no one’s fooled.
The Liberals launched their platform Monday at a glitzy rally to party faithful in downtown Toronto.
This item overshadowed everything else.
Thousands of people — young and old — have lost their jobs in recent years. Our manufacturing sector has been decimated, in part due to McGuinty’s disastrous electricity policies.
But this government is going to throw $12 million into a program that will skew the hiring scene for home-grown job seekers.
Imagine this: A company is hiring staff. There are two applicants. One is a young person recently arrived in this country, speaking little English. He or she has no background and no history of working and paying taxes in this country.
The other applicant is a young person who was educated here. Who’s paying taxes. Whose parents paid taxes and who’ve contributed to this community in countless ways. The young person probably has a student debt.
Who’ll get the job? Well, McGuinty’s just given employers 10,000 reasons to hire the newcomer.
This isn’t what immigration to this country is all about.

If you have a problem with this policy? Dalton has already come out and said you are a racist and divisive TEA-PARTY type american immigrant hater. Not what the Liberals are all about at all, they are all that is compassionate, helping your fellow man, giving a hand up,  loving, caring Liberals.

Remember folks if they give it, they can take it away. Even universal free health care subsidies.

Dalton McGuinty, (a man so evil, even by slimy politician standards, that I am sure he glows in the dark) has allowed the ministry to cancel special diet nutrition subsidies and certainly signed the death warrant for some of our most vulnerable citizens.

The 21-year-old Ottawa man has Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a degenerative disease of the muscles that has him confined to a wheelchair with a host of other related ailments, including heart and respiratory problems.

He weighs all of 30 kilograms and requires a special diet, high in nutrition and one that permits him to swallow without choking. He cannot afford to lose weight.

His diet, much of it prepared by his mother, Liliane Robinson, keeps that in check.

He needs round-the-clock care from his mother, with whom he lives in a two-bedroom highrise apartment on Halifax Drive, off Walkley Road.

When he turned 18, Brian qualified for financial help from the Ontario Disability Support Program that included a modest allowance for living expenses and $250 to help pay for the diet.

But the Ministry of Community and Social Services decided - against the recommendations of its own panel of health professionals - that Brandon and other muscular dystrophy sufferers with weight-loss issues will no longer receive the allowance

Yes dear leader, we see and take note.

There's a slippery slope

Some of us saw coming YEARS ago.

Psychiatrists seek to destigmatize Adult-Child Sex.

Conference concludes better to 'focus on the needs' of pedophile than worry about protecting children

Barber said the symposium themes became clear quickly:

  • Pedophiles are unfairly "demonized" in society.

  • The concept of "wrong" should not be applied to "minor-attracted persons."

  • "Children are not inherently unable to consent" to sex with an adult.

  • "An adult's desire to have sex with children is 'normative.'"

  • And the Diagnostic Manual "ignores that pedophiles 'have feelings of love and romance for children' the same way adult heterosexuals have for each other."
Barber noted that self-described "gay activist" and speaker Jacob Breslow said it is proper for children to be "the object of our attraction." Breslow said pedophiles shouldn't need to get consent from a child to have sex any more than they would get consent from a shoe to wear it, according to Barber.

They may be using the same tactics as the Homosexual community, but there is one teeny weeny difference. Homosexual activity between consenting adults is none of my Farking business. Children? Minors? Babies? My children? My Minors? My babies?

The three S's come to mind. Pas de sweat with a clear conscience.

She exhaled slowly

The Cattleman is cancer free!

That's the long and the short of it, once I was told I felt my whole body sag with complete and utter relief. I had no idea I was holding myself so tight these past five months.

I took the call at the beach and I don't care if  tears of joy  flowed, the wind was up and sand was flying....

He had a very bad case of pneumonia that's all, sometimes if you let it go long enough with out treatment you can do some serious damage.(Like some folks have been known to die from it silly man)  But he is clear of that and will continue to gain strength. Now he needs to do some work to get his old health, strength and vigor back. We will have to watch him  this fall, winter and spring to make sure he does not allow it to take hold again. We will have him whipped up into shape as fast as...he will let us. :O)

BTW Mr. "I no longer have enough behind to make a decent fingerprint", if you think I am going to continue  ignoring  those empty   Harvey's bags, Swiss chalet , Chinese take out, chocolate milk containers, pizza pizza boxes and  Oh Henry bar wrappers that I keep seeing in your vehicle....... Think again.....

Wanna see what State run Health Care will get ya?

Rubbing more salt in the womb.

My 20 something daughter, with one child and one on the way, asks the following important question of the medical establishment.

How is it at 14 years old I could walk into an abortion clinic, no questions asked and I can have one, but I  can't have my tubes tied in my 20's because I am too young to make such an important reproductive decision?

Good question eh?

It is reversible if her family got wiped out in some tragic accident (which is one of the "reasons" they denied her) what are the freaking odds on that anyway?

What ever happened to my body my choice?.

Please sir, Mr./Ms. Government Official sirs,  but could you get your stinking paws off our uterus you damn dirty apes?

So let me get this straight...

The man who can't tell the difference between a medical facility  and a Triad run "Cat-house" is the only man that can save health care? Seriously?

Wanna see what state run health care will get ya?

Thank Goodness we, the anointed superior in all things Universal Health care, do NOT have to mortgage our homes because some petty free market pencil pusher is trying to save some $$$$$.  Not like those crazy 'Mericans.

Oh Wait..

When Torontonian Jill Anzarut, then 34, felt something in her breast, it never occurred to her that it might be cancer. “I had thought a tumour would feel like a wad of gum under my skin,” she said. When she mentioned it to her doctor at a checkup several months later, an ultrasound was ordered. Worried by the results, the doctor sent her to Princess Margaret Hospital’s Gattuso Rapid Diagnostic Centre for a biopsy. Two days later, Ms. Anzarut was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer.
Worse, the cancer has a high likelihood of reoccurring if not treated with the drug Herceptin, which can cut the chance of cancer returning in half. But Ontario only provides the drug to those whose tumours have grown to be larger than one centimetre in diameter. Ms. Anzarut, by catching her cancer early, disqualified herself from the best possible treatment. Her appeal for an exemption was rejected on Thursday.

Of course ya know she, nor anyone else for that matter, is allowed, BY LAW, to buy supplementary medical insurance that would cover these sorts of eventualities...

I have a friend that needs two knee replacements, she is only 49,  guidelines for knee replacements due to arthritis in her Province are slated for those who are 60 and over. She is at the bottom of the list as a result, she may well  have to wait 11 years,  raising three children, going to have go on long term disability, she is mortgaging her house to get it done this summer in the US of A.

Thank God we have have free medical care or I'd begin to worry.

Want to see what state run Health Care will get ya?

It's always comforting when one lets their betters, bureaucrats with your best interests in mind, instead of capitalist dogs, make these Health care decisions. I mean what could go wrong?

This Saturday, one of Greece’s most respected newspapers, To Vima, reported that the nation’s largest government health insurance provider would no longer pay for special footwear for  Diabetes Patients.  Amputation is cheaper, says the Benefits Division of the state insurance provider.

Wanna see what state run health care will get ya?

Oh dear da dear da dear me, this might have been a tad concerning,

Two women had their breasts removed by accident, wrongly really, they were told they had breast cancer, each received a treatment of a full mastectomy and lymph nodes removed before it was found out that they didn't actually have breast cancer.

Laurie Johnston of Leamington, Ont., had a mastectomy last November from Heartwell, who admitted she misread the results of a needle biopsy that found Johnston did not have cancer.

Janice Laporte, whose breast was removed by Heartwell in September 2001, was told a week after her surgery that she didn't have cancer.

A probe was called and the results were that the wrong diagnosis fell with in the acceptable limits of statistical margin of error of pathology reports.

However, the report concluded that Williams' error rate was within an acceptable range as quoted in medical literature.

They also noted that the Pathologist's cataract condition has no effect on how they read the pathology reports.

Dr. Barry McLellan, who led the four-month probe, said he couldn't say whether cataracts contributed to potential errors by Williams, as alleged in an internal report by health officials.

"We certainly did not find any evidence to support any physical or medical condition contributing to any increase in rate because we didn't see that increase in rate over time," he said in Windsor.

Whoosh that's good to know!

The surgeon has had her surgery rights fully reinstated at the hospital in question.

Oh my this is confusing , if all concerned did nothing wrong then why would they publish the following?

McLellan said his team was also concerned with "unproductive relationships" between doctors, senior management and the board of directors that existed at Hotel-Dieu for more than a decade.

"It is difficult to advance a quality agenda... unless you have good working relationships in the hospital," he said.

However, patients should share his confidence that facilities will resolve the issues as a result of the investigation, he said.

"There's little doubt that the lessons learned here in Windsor are valuable ones," McLellan said.

"They're lessons that hospitals across the province can look to and learn from. Ultimately, they will strengthen the quality of health care in Ontario."

Malcolm Maxwell, CEO of the Grand River Hospital in Kitchener, was appointed Wednesday as facilitator to oversee the implementation of the report's recommendations.

Yesterday the Ontario opposition called for the reining government to apologize to these ladies, I think they are right, perhaps a nice handcrafted card to show their personal sincere concern would be in order. That would be nice.

Wanna see what state run health care will get ya?

Behold the continued glories of socialized universally bad health care:

There she waited more than three hours, blood seeping out of her jeans, tears rolling down her face as she feared she was losing her baby — or that she might be bleeding to death.
It was only three hours because they decided to leave and go to another hospital to try and get some sort of semblance of "treatment or medical help".
She did receive an apology from one of the nurses in the emergency department but it was too little too late, she said.

“She came over and she apologized to me, and she said ‘I just wanted to tell you that it’s not that we don’t care,’” Handrahan recounts.

“I remember telling her that I realized tonight how cruel this world really is.”

It's not that we don't care, we just won't do anything for you or let you and your hubby go thru this in private.

I admire her patience and restraint, I may have been less then polite should it have been me..

I am greatly relieved that there is going to be a full investigation of this incident by...by....the administration of the very hospital in question. Yippee... that  will fix em.

Wanna see what State run Health care gets ya?

So you get raped in Canada's capital city and you screw up your courage to actually report it, lets see what in theory is supposed to transpire.

Muonde said the city has a Sexual Assault Protocol made up of local partners such as the Ottawa Hospital and police.

When a woman is brought to the Civic emergency room, where the sexual assault support centre is located, they are supposed to given priority and a nurse is to be on call 24 hours a day.

“A woman is supposed to be seen within an hour,” said Muonde.

Excellent, now lets see what actually happens shall we?

An hour later she woke up with her shorts around her ankles in the Henderson Ave. and Osgoode St. area.

She didn’t know where she was or how she got there and police believe she was drugged by her assailants.

They take her to THE hospital that specializes, has a specific unit to deal with this situation, it's gonna be all good right? Not so much.

A 21-year-old Ottawa woman who had been sexually assaulted was refused immediate treatment at the Ottawa Hospital over the weekend, the Sun has learned.

The woman was taken to the Civic hospital early Sunday morning to have a rape kit completed but Ottawa police were told there were no sexual assault nurses available.

The victim was given three options: Lie in a bed until Monday morning when a nurse would be available — but she wouldn’t be able to shower — or go to either Cornwall or Renfrew hospitals.

She ended up being taken to Renfrew to get treatment.

Ummmm Renfrew is a small town up the valley, about an hour and a half away, that has a population of just over 7900.  You have got to be kidding me...

Eight women are sexually assaulted every day on average but only one reports it, according to Ottawa police.

No kidding, wonder why that might be? Betcha that pitiful number is gonna take a bit of a deeper dip in the near future.

I happened to catch the hospital admin on the radio today and he said it was NOT the first time nor would it be the last time due to "Staffing issues". Right.........thats OK/reasonable then eh?

No competition equals no competence.
