Again, just so we’re all on the same page, that’s 1,600 pounds of venison.

“Deer meat is not permitted to be served in a shelter, restaurant or any other public eating establishment in Louisiana,” a Health Dept. official said in an email to Fox News.

“While we applaud the good intentions of the hunters who donated this meat, we must protect the people who eat at the Rescue Mission, and we cannot allow a potentially serious health threat to endanger the public,” the statement adds.

 The meat had been donated from a group called Hunters for the Hungry. They are rightfully outraged, as is the Mission staff who have been serving deer meat for years.

I can't believe the whitewashing and free ride a certain Jack Layton is getting just because he died.

Yes it is sad that he died in such a nasty way, cancer is horrible and I have no wish to see it again.

Yes he was only 61 and when your over thirty one realizes that 61 is indeed not a very long life.

Yes he was a husband and father and I am sure that his wife will miss him and his children will too.

All these things are true, but what else is true is he was a politician, his snout has been in the trough since he drew his first paycheck and it stayed there all his life.

He and his wife lived in subsidized housing in Toronto while they were both making good salaries as city counselors. They made a big deal about being one of the only families that "paid going rate" but come on they paid nothing near Toronto rates.

The Man was an NDP, not that all politicians aren't basically the same, the NDP have spectacular ability to think they have the right to impose their ideals, lifestyle and tax style on us the wee sheeple.

The man was a horrible hypocrite and liar ( I know I already said he was a politician) or one of the stupidest creatures alive. How can one not know that the Massage parlor, (the "Velvet Touch Massage Parlor")  they frequent and receive shiatsu treatment from diminutive Chinese immigrant women ,who speak very little broken English, in a bed and not on a massage table, isn't a medical facility but a  whore house. It stretches credibility too far to believe it when he said "I didn't know".

He vowed to do away with every dirty rotten stinking private Health care facility in Canada, even if he did go to one himself for surgery. "I didn't know".

What he "didn't know" was plenty.

He was a man, he died, he is still the same man, good, bad, indifferent regardless of the cancer, regardless of death, it doesn't whitewash him nor should it...

I can live with the fact that I am not always NICE, nice will get you a kick in the head and used like an old piece of tissue.

I know we Canadians are just so bloody polite, polite has it's place for sure, but truth should always supersede manufactured sentiment.

 My 20 something daughter, with one child and one on the way, asks the following important question of the medical establishment.

How is it at 14 years old I could walk into an abortion clinic, no questions asked and I can have one, but I  can't have my tubes tied in my 20's because I am too young to make such an important reproductive decision?

It is reversible if her family got wiped out in some tragic accident (which is one of the "reasons" they denied her) what are the freaking odds on that anyway?

Federal agents also allege that Transportation Safety Administration Officer Thomas Gordon Jr. of Philadelphia, who routinely searched airline passengers, uploaded explicit pictures of young girls to an Internet site on which he also posted a photograph of himself in his TSA uniform.
Homeland Security agents arrested the TSA officer March 24, and he is being held without bail.
Although the case was unsealed Thursday, neither the indictment nor the news release mentioned Gordon's job searching airline passengers for TSA.

No mention  if the "sexually explicit" photos were copies of scans of  the children he taken during his time at work.  (that would be keeping you and I safe from brown folks with bombs strapped to their hemorrhoids)

I remember  when I first read  the US was no longer allowing Trial by Jury for sentences under 6 months anymore. This was disguised as a "cost cutting measure".  Right...it is a maneuver by the state to disallow an accused the opportunity to a fair trial judged  by his peers. The new trend in law enforcement is to "stack" several charges all worth 6 months or less, have a judge rubber stamp it as per the prosecution request and Voila you have a person serving consecutive sentences of 6 months or less that can stretch out decades.

Good job there rigging the system.

78-year-old libertarian rights activist Julian Heicklen and his wife were rousted from their bed in Teaneck NJ at 6 AM Friday morning by federal officers serving Heicklen an arrest warrant for failure to appear at an arraignment on charges of jury tampering.

Jury tampering in this case seems to consist of standing outside on a curb of a court house handing out pamphlets and talking to people  about Jury nullification and Fully Informed Jury Association, a perfectly legal  thing to do, but a real pisser to TPTB who would rather keep folks ignorant of their rights and or purpose as a juror.


Heicklen is/was looking forward to HIS day in court where he could argue his case and beef up the profile of Jury Nullification. Apparently TPTB have slightly different plans for Mr. Heicklen:

However, during his court appearance Heicklen was told that his trial for jury tampering will not be a jury trial because the penalty is 6 months or less.

How convenient for the prosecution.... no pesky judged by his peers nonsense will clutter up this trial. A penny saved is an accused turned guilty easily, no muss no fuss.......no justice.

Worse, the cancer has a high likelihood of reoccurring if not treated with the drug Herceptin, which can cut the chance of cancer returning in half. But Ontario only provides the drug to those whose tumours have grown to be larger than one centimetre in diameter. Ms. Anzarut, by catching her cancer early, disqualified herself from the best possible treatment. Her appeal for an exemption was rejected on Thursday.

Of course ya know she, nor anyone else for that matter, is allowed, BY LAW, to buy supplementary medical insurance that would cover these sorts of eventualities...

I have a friend that needs two knee replacements, she is only 49,  guidelines for knee replacements due to arthritis in her Province are slated for those who are 60 and over. She is at the bottom of the list as a result, she may well  have to wait 11 years,  raising three children, going to have go on long term disability, she is mortgaging her house to get it done this summer in the US of A.

Thank God we have have free medical care or I'd begin to worry.

LONDON — A British court ruled that a couple cannot keep foster children because they are morally opposed to homosexuality because of their faith.

In the ruling February 28 the justices ruled that homosexual rights “should take precedence” over the rights of religious beliefs. The Judges stated that Christian beliefs on sexual ethics may be ‘inimical’ to children, and they implicitly upheld an Equalities and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) submission that children risk being ‘infected’ by Christian moral beliefs.

Oh Boy, oh boy, never co-operate with these guys. NEVER! The policeman is NOT your child's friend and they are NOT interested in justice or fairness or even common sense. An 11 year old boy arrested, handcuffed, fingerprinted, thrown in a cell, put through the legal rigors of the state and for what? For drawing a stick figure to release his anger as directed by his physiologist and which the school had already dismissed as a non threat.

She says she told her son to cooperate and tell the truth, but was horrified when they told her they were arresting him and then handcuffed him and hauled him away in a patrol car. His mother says she begged police to let her drive her son to the police department and to let her stay with him through the booking process but they refused.

They put him in a cell, took his mug shot and fingerprinted him. He says he thought he was going to jail and would never be able to go home again.

What a bunch of bullies. 

Tim is on probation and if he completes that successfully, the criminal charges will be dropped. But his parents say it has cost them thousands of dollars so far.

And if they had known that their son’s cooperation would be used as evidence against him, they would have hired a lawyer at the beginning and exercised his right to remain silent.

Ummmm did Mamma and Daddy think that "Everything you say CAN and WILL be used AGAINST you" was just for laughs? Did they really think that rational, common sense would take hold , that the police would be reasonable, realize it was just a misunderstanding, and this would just blow over as it should have? Business puts up a sign that bans TSA agents from eating in their restaurant.

My boss flies quite a bit and he has an amazing ability to remember faces. If he sees a TSA agent come in we turn our backs and completely ignore them, and tell them to leave.
Their kind aren’t welcomed in our establishment.
A large majority of our customers — over 90 percent — agree with our stance and stand by our decision.
We even have the police on our side and they have helped us escort TSA agents out of our cafe. Until TSA agents start treating us with the respect and dignity that we deserve, then things will change for them in the private sector.

This article fails to name the establishment in question, it is also some obscure (O.K. maybe obscure to those not in the "flying circles" or have no clue who Christopher Elliot, Consumer advocate is) Blog. None the less, heartening news it is.

This is how the people win, by showing their disgust and making it clear and consequential to those that do the deed. Ridicule them, shun them, mock them, make them feel shame and make it impossible for them to go through their lives thinking that what they do is anything except despicable. No more Mr.(or Ms. ) Nice sheep.
